Gmail Tools
Automatic detection
You can simply mention @Hana and describe your request. If the intent is clear, she will automatically run the relevant Gmail tool for you.
Introduction
Gmail tools let Hana search and analyse your email messages. By providing a time range and a search query, you can ask Hana to retrieve and summarise messages without opening Gmail.

How To Use
- Initiate the Tool: In your Google Chat, mention @Hana and indicate you want to work with your emails.
- Specify the Range and Query: Provide start and end timestamps or describe the period, along with a search query to filter emails.
- Receive the Results: Hana will fetch the matching messages and respond based on their content.

For a daily summary of unread emails, see Gmail Rundown.
Troubleshooting
- Access: Make sure you’re signed in with the same account and have granted Gmail scopes.
- Too many results: Add filters to your query (e.g.,
from:finance subject:invoice
). - Empty results: Widen the time range or adjust the search query to match Gmail syntax.
