Sprints

The Sprints module gives teams a sprint-level planning and execution workspace in the Hana Dashboard.

What You Can Do​

  • Create and edit sprint definitions.
  • Transition sprint lifecycle states (planned, active, completed, archived).
  • Delete sprints in supported states.
  • Review sprint totals and sprint list metrics.
  • Inspect sprint board health, workload, assignees, and blockers.
  • Add tasks from backlog into sprint or remove selected tasks from sprint.

Sprint List Capabilities​

  • Create sprint: Use the create action from the sprint list.
  • Edit sprint: Update sprint metadata from row actions.
  • Status transitions: Start, complete, cancel/archive based on current sprint state.
  • Delete sprint: Available for specific states such as planned/archived.
  • Filter and search: Narrow list by status and search text.
  • Pagination and totals: Review planned/active/completed/archived counts and page through large lists.

Sprint Board Capabilities​

  • Board summary: View sprint-level summary cards (progress, capacity, story points, overdue/needs-update signals).
  • Task table controls: Search, filter by assignee, and paginate sprint tasks.
  • Backlog operations from board:
    • Add tasks from backlog to sprint.
    • Remove selected tasks from sprint.
  • Backlog view: Open dedicated backlog view to assign selected tasks into sprint.
  • Task drill-down: Open task details directly from sprint board rows.

Typical Workflow​

  1. Open Sprints in dashboard navigation.
  2. Create a new sprint or open an existing sprint from the list.
  3. Start the sprint when ready, then monitor status and workload signals.
  4. Open sprint board and add backlog tasks into sprint.
  5. Remove out-of-scope tasks from sprint if priorities shift.
  6. Use task details to inspect blockers and update execution context.
  7. Complete/archive sprint at end of cycle.
