Jira Memory User Guide
This guide explains how to create and manage Jira memories directly in the dashboard. It covers connecting your Jira account, ingesting projects, monitoring progress, and maintaining batches.
1. Connect your Jira account
- Navigate to the Connectors section in the dashboard.
- Choose Jira and click Connect.
- Provide your Jira cloud instance URL, an API token, and the email address associated with your Jira account.
- Submit the form to link the account.
2. Create a Jira memory
- Go to the Memory section and open the Jira tab.
- Click Add Jira memory.
- Select the connected Jira account and specify the project keys to ingest. Use comma-separated values for multiple projects.
- Confirm to start ingestion. A notification appears when the process begins. Ingestion may take a few minutes depending on project size.
3. Review ingestion status
- The memory list shows each project's status (in progress, ingested, or error) and the last update time.
- If a batch is in progress, the list auto-refreshes periodically. Use Refresh for an immediate update.
4. Manage existing memories
- Sync – Re-ingest selected projects to pull the latest issues.
- Delete – Remove an outdated batch entirely. This action cannot be undone.
- Global memory – If available for your role, toggle the switch to share the batch with everyone in the organization.
5. Troubleshooting
- If you cannot find your Jira connector, return to the Connectors page and confirm your account is linked.
- Ensure you enter valid project keys. The app shows an error if keys are missing or incorrect.
- Contact your administrator if ingestion continues to fail or you lack required permissions.
6. Tips for efficient use
- Keep project keys concise and ensure they match your Jira configuration.
- Regularly sync memories to keep data fresh.
- Delete memories no longer relevant to free up quota.
With these steps you can successfully connect Jira, ingest projects, and manage Jira memories within the dashboard.
